Environmental Gas Monitoring

Datapoul is now able to offer on farm Environmental Gas Monitoring to broiler growers in the South West region.

Testing covers:

  • Noxious gases including Carbon Dioxide, Carbon Monoxide and Ammonia.
  • Other environmental factors including Humidity, Lux and Water Testing.

The aim of the assessment is to improve productivity and the birds’ welfare, provide a pleasant, safe environment for your workers and maintain compliance with the EU Broiler Welfare Directive/Red Tractor Poultry Assurance Scheme (ACP).

This service can be included as part of a routine veterinary visit.  Alternatively it can be booked as a special Field Service Visit.

An average environmental monitoring visit would last 2hours.  During the visit, you will receive information on the effects of these noxious gasses and how to minimise  levels and improve bird performance.

Following the visit you will receive a signed certificate of gas concentration readings to provide to the auditors.

Factsheets giving gas level limits (as specificed by EU Broiler Welfare Directive and ACP) and the effects of gases on bird health are available to download.  For factsheets on Carbon Dioxide, Carbon Monoxide and Ammonia – just visit our downloads area.
