Training and Conferences
Broilers growers in the South West region can now benefit from funding* for training events, technical conferences and flock health improvement through the Datapoul Programme.

Training under the Datapoul programme can be delivered in many different formats:-
- Conferences and seminars
- Formal training courses e.g. Poultry Meat Training Initiative (Poultry Passport)
- Specialist Vet led training events or discussion groups
- On farm training e.g. Environmental Gas Assessments or Vaccination Reviews

On 26th September we held a Ventilation Management Seminar. Our thanks go to Claire and Nick Bragg for hosting this event at Frogmary Green Farm. Keynote speakers were Africa Fernandez, Aviagen’s Company Veterinarian, who discussed the effects of poor ventilation on bird health. Justin Emery of Draper Ventilation Ltd talked about the ‘practical and technical art of ventilation’ and Alison Holsworth from the Environment Agency, gave an excellent overview of Odour Management. Paul Draper also attended giving a commentary on a smoke airflow demonstration.
On 14th November at Padbrook Park were were fortunate to learn from some highly acclaimed international speakers. We are very grateful to Prof Steve Collett – University of Georgia, Dr Swamy Haladi from Allltech’s Global Mycotoxin Management Team, Sam Smyth – a Poultry Nutritionist from Devonish Nutrition and Mike Alcorn, Richard Turner and Kim De Vriesof St David’s Poultry Team.
